This site contains a selection of photographs from my recent 2017 trip overseas. I started in Hawaii, crossed to the USA west coast before traversing the country to Bethesda in Maryland. I stayed there a month and took in the sights of Washington, New York, and other places. My homeward leg was via Europe and Dubai and after about 11 weeks of travelling at a much older age, I was very happy to be home again.
I took all of these images with my Fujifilm XS-1, which was reviewed when it came out as: "The Fujifilm X-S1 is as big and as expensive as an SLR, but packs an amazing 26x zoom lens and excels at low-light shooting." I acquired mine in 2013 second hand and overall, have been very happy with the results. I have done very little tweaking of the images, usually just adjusting the contrast slightly with some of them, which I find gives them a bit more 'pop' when viewed on a screen.
Whilst in New York, I added a high resolution wide-angle/macro combination to my kit, which separates into two parts although both can be used together. As a life-long user of manual SLR cameras with a whole range of different lenses, I am content nowadays not to have to carry so much gear with me when travelling.
